Sample entry 3

Found an awesome video about ice! Showing us that water expands in size when it becomes frozen.
Called "Ice bomb"


Also look at this one, shows all sorts of different solid things being frozen. Look what happens to them after!

Sample entry 2

Today we did an experiment where we filled a bucket with ice and added salt into it to see what happens to the temperature.

This is what we recorded:


We learned that water freezes at 0 degrees, and so ice has a temperature of 0 degrees celsius. But when we added salt, we found that the temperature dropped below 0 degrees. Using this as a freezer, we will try to conduct experiments to see what things we can freeze, and what temperatures these freeze at. It seems that the lowest this freezer goes is -6 degrees, so if the liquid we choose requires a lower temperature to become frozen, we will have to find another way.

What happens to water when it freezes?

KWHL

What do I know? - Water becomes solid when it freezes. Water becomes bigger when frozen.

What do I want to know? - Can ice be frozen? If so will the ice become bigger too?

How will I find out? - Find out if ice can be frozen and how to do this.
